about

A long time ago, I was in with a small, tightly-knit group of geeky friends when I was in middle school. We all had a love of computers, role playing games, and we were 100% going to start our own software company so that we could create our own RPGs and shake Squaresoft off its throne through sheer brute excellence. We had a programmer, a story writer, and me as the composer. Sure, we were young and also didn't have a graphics artist, but we still dreamed the dream.

I didn't know much about music, but I had such large ideas as a kid and I was told by our programmer/leader that there was this free DOS-based software I could use called Scream Tracker III used in the now-ancient VGA demo scene (look it up, pretty cool stuff) and I started my music-writing career blazing on my 486dx66. I was in 6th grade at the time.

Years went by, I moved away, and the dream pretty much died, but I continued to write music. This is the music I wrote from 1997 to the early 00s using Fast Tracker II (much of what I wrote with Scream Tracker III prior isn't really worth putting up here) all while envisioning the future Role Playing Game it would someday accompany.

This album is quite literally some of the best of my childhood and should be listened to realizing I was 12-14 years old when I wrote this music.
